The Relationshipper Book Tag

Happy September everyone!! Today is a special day for me because it is my son’s FIRST BIRTHDAY!! Whaaaat?! Because we’re friends, I’m not going to go into great detail about what I was doing exactly one year ago today 🙂 But you better believe I’m telling my son aallllll about it 😉

I’ve also been in a pretty big reading slump. It happens to us all, amiright? But I’m trying to get back into it. What better way to do that then to answer some fun SHIP-ing questions?? Thank you so much to Teagan & Jess – the fabulous team at Fiction No Chaser for the tag & the love. ❤

RULES:

  1. Answer the eleven questions provided by the blogger who tagged you
  2. Come up with eleven new questions of your own!

QUESTIONS FROM JESS & TEAGAN

  • What fictional character from a book would you date and why?

Get thee a Winston brother, ladies!! Okay, so just this morning I finished the 5th book in the Winston Brothers series by Penny Reid. I’ve got Winston brothers on my mind. I don’t even care which one. I’d date any of them 🙂

  • What would your first date with this character look like? What would you do?

Well now, I guess we’d get some pie?? (I don’t even like pie, but I feel like they do that a lot in the series)… or cake?? Chocolate cake and then a hike to burn off all those cake calories. And we’d talk about books and traveling ❤

  • What fictional characters would form your book significant other harem?

The first two ladies that immediately come to mind are Inej and Nina (Six of Crows). I know this isn’t a book (that I know of??) but I would like to have April Ludgate (Parks & Rec) in my harem as well…. 🙂

  • What’s your least favorite trope when it comes to book relationships?

Insta-love! I think it is lazy. And isn’t the anticipation half of the fun of reading a good relationship develop??

  • What’s your favorite ship?

Hmmmmm….. I’m going old school here but I think my absolute favorite ship is Alanna & George (ala Song of the Lioness series by Tamora Pierce). But I also love Lucy & Josh(The Hating Game), the adorable-ist award goes to Simon & Blue and who isn’t trash for Rhys and Feyre??

  • What’s a ship you *hate*?

I wasn’t a bit fan of Hermione and Ron. Don’t get me wrong. I think they probably needed to have it out with each other BUT getting married and having kids?? Not so much. They both could have done much better for themselves. (With this being said, I don’t really like Hermione with Harry either).

I also think Romeo and Juliet is pretty stupid. Let’s think about this logically for just a second… they are stupid young (like Juliet is 13 or 14?) and they kill themselves for pretty much no reason after knowing each other for like… a week. Dramatic much??

  • What’s a ship you’d like to third wheel with and why?

I think I would like to be a third wheel in Katniss & Peeta’s relationship. Mostly because every once in a while, that boy just really needed a hug (and let’s be serious, he totally deserves ALL the hugs) ❤

  • If you could delete one ship from a book, who would it be and why?

I would delete Lisbeth Salander & Mikael Blomkvist (Girl with the Dragon Tattoo). Their romantic relationship is just a little too strange and I think completely unnecessary to the stories. (Of course I never read past book #3 so maybe there is something that happens that I’m unaware of?)

  • What two characters from different fandoms would you like to see together?

I always wanted to give Draco Malfoy a nice girlfriend. Maybe he would have turned out a little better. Let’s see…. how about Zera (Bring Me Their Hearts)? She obviously wouldn’t put up with his crap and they could help each other deal with their pasts to become better people…

  • What ship that ended are you still mourning?

Laia & Elias (Ember in the Ashes)… but there is still time!!!! (fingers crossed). The other one is a HUGE spoiler (from a book that isn’t out yet) & even mentioning the book title is going to spoil it so I’ll just move on…. 🙂

  •  Jacob or Edward?

Haha. While I wasn’t a huge Twilight fan, I think everyone had opinions about this one. At the time, to me it wasn’t “who is the best fit?” but more like “who isn’t quite as bad as the other?” In the end, I tended to sway toward Edward. Mostly because the whole Renesmee thing was just too weird. <shudders>

But now the mother in me is all, “Poor little dear! You don’t have to choose either of them!” Go Bella, get away from this mess!!

I’m taking the lazy way out here…. If you have read this far and want to play, I Tag YOU. Answer the same questions & be sure to tag back to me and Jess & Teagan so we can see your answers 🙂

  1. Happy birthday to your son!
And I’m sure your reading slump will be over soon, they happen to all readers 🙂
I don’t like insta love either; I love the friends to lovers and the enemies to lovers trope though!
I would love to be a third wheel in Peeta and Katniss’ relationship just because of how much I want to see them together ahh I really liked the epilogue of Mocking Jay.

  2. Haha, poor son being haunted about what was going on year before his birth lmao. I should use that one too… “do you know what your mom went through to put you on this earth?”

  3. Happy birthday to your son! And I agree with you and a few others above – Peeta and Katniss – yep, I’d totally third wheel that. Even if it’s me sitting in the corner watching as Peeta bakes Katniss a million buns while she cleans her hunting boots.
